私たちは、画面越しに世界を見ることに慣れすぎた。画像はどこへでも届き、何度でも複製される。本展『400nm』は、その流れの中にありながら、ここに来なければ受け取れないものだけで構成される。

越前白麻紙に、高濃度の膠と墨で描いた新作平面作品群。3メートル離れて静かに佇む画面は、歩み寄るにつれて表情を変え、10センチの距離で、手の痕跡が密に積み重なった地層として姿を現す。遠くから見た静けさと、近づいて見た密度。その間の数メートルを歩くこと自体が、この展示の一部である。

一部の作品では、見る人によって、静止した画面の中の形がわずかに動いて見える。紙の上で何かが動くのではない。それは、見る人の身体の中で起きている。同じ作品の前に立っても、受け取るものは一人ひとり違う。

デジタルと切り離せない日々の中で、それでも自分の身体でしか確かめられないものがある。会場で、その距離を歩いてほしい。

We have grown used to seeing the world through screens. Images travel anywhere and multiply without end. "400nm" sits within that current, yet is made entirely of what can only be received in person.

New works in sumi ink and high-concentration animal glue on Echizen white hemp paper. From three meters, each surface holds still; as you approach, it changes, and at ten centimeters it reveals itself as dense strata of accumulated marks. The few meters between stillness and density are part of the exhibition.

In some works, depending on the viewer, forms within the still image may seem to move slightly. Nothing moves on the paper. It happens inside the body of the person looking. Before the same work, no two people receive the same thing.

In days inseparable from the digital, some things can still only be confirmed with one's own body. Come and walk that distance.
